The Purpose of Time: Shadows & Dust

"Then the Father formed man of dust from the Other Side and the breath of life lit his eyes...
Sure as shit, I gotta get me some more of that dust"

The End has been and gone. The sands of time haven't ceased and dust keeps one and all from keeling over - even if a few knives have to be plunged into a kidney every now and then.

Katcher is obsessed with uncovering the true origin of the majical powder, or more precisely stopping the shadowy Malificum at the source of their power.

This time he's dragging himself north, trying to make people talk before they become just another body he has to climb and their voices disappear on the cursed wind.

Somewhere in the barren lands, Gwen shivers in the night, hoping she can get through her days with nothing worse than a stiff back and a new blister. If only she could muster the strength to set herself free.

Meanwhile down in the Double 0, the last vestiges of civilization are set to be washed away before Adem can find what he is looking for and inside the ancient walls of the House of the Father, Acolyte Boniface prays for his balls back.

In every corner of the map, dust and shadows gather.

Book 1 of The Shadow Series. Myths, that's what the humans called it, but for Ashe it quickly became her reality. Her life changing transformation narrowed her paths down to two; She could either embrace her fates and save the people she's grown to love, or she can walk away and live a somewhat normal life while others suffer the consequences. How far is she willing to go to create peace where there's never been any? Will she even create peace? Or will she help encourage the most brutal war the Shadow Realms have ever experienced? Several years of Asheland's childhood had disappeared from her memory. She assumed it was her brain trying to protect her from a traumatic event, although that's true it's not exactly what she expected and her brain wasn't necessarily the cause. After being homeless until she was sixteen years old, then living in a boat dock for four years, she had finally found her home in a cottage in the near-by mountains of Wolf Creek. Everything seemed to be going well. However, as a list of secrets begin unraveling when Ashe gives in to her overwhelming urges to visit the island that terrified almost every citizen in Wolf Creek, her life becomes more complicated than she could've ever imagined. All of this just because she was turning twenty-one. Nothing was as it had ever seemed. * excerpt from the book * { "Why do you make such reckless, impulsive decisions?" The old man asked as we watched the moon. "The world could end tomorrow and everyone expects me to live in fear today? There's no life to live inside the box of fear, there's no freedom in there," I replied softly. }

"What are you doing?" She asked and her voice sounded rather small even to her. She had asked him how to help him. This wasn't what she was expecting and being flush against him she could easily tell just how aroused he was. She didn't think she'd done anything to evoke that kind of response. Clearly she had and there was a kind of rumble she could just barely hear coming from him. He turned her and took a step forward which trapped her between him and the glass there. His mouth grazed hers and she thought that he was going to kiss her but didn't. He couldn't be any more flush against her if he tried and she wasn't sure if she should try and move away or not. Actually a part of her didn't really mind and was rather excited by what he did. Was doing, and she definitely felt a rush through her and her stomach clenched when she felt his teeth scrap against her throat. His hands dropped to the hem of her shirt and rather swiftly shoved it upward as his hands slid over her sides and she shivered for a moment. She should tell him to stop, but she knew he wouldn't listen. Ragnarok is the end of all. The three siblings Fenrir, Hel, and Jormungandr will destroy the nine realms. Once Fenrir is freed when Jormungandr shakes the worlds. It would break open the tomb holding Fenrir and then even the gods would be devoured. But what happens if Fenrir's tomb is opened by a mortal instead? What happens when the siblings of Ragnarok are shown a different choice other then what fate had decreed? Some times it's not about saving the world, just saving one soul that can change the fate of all the rest. How do you stop a god that doesn't care and wants to destroy? How do you love one that has never felt? Are you willing to love someone who may never love you?

Today was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life. The day when I say 'I do' and join myself to my mate for the rest of our lives. However that's drowned out by what's still missing. Myself. I stare at my reflection in the mirror and it's almost like I can see the part of me that's missing. Rafe has claimed that he doesn't care that I can't reach my wolf, that it's a problem that we will solve, that everything will be alright. He can't help me with this though. The Moon Goddess told me it was up to me and me alone, she's given me clues, only I still have no idea what to do. I feel like my soul has been lost along with my wolf, and even though Rafe smiles and kisses me and tells me it's alright, I can't help but think that he's somehow disappointed in me. Disappointed that I can't be what he needs. He needs a Luna, and right now, that's not who I am. And I'm worried that the pack sees that too. I won't give up hope though. I won't stop trying until I've found Kali, until I've found my Luna. ******************** The dust has settled following Rafe and Katarina's recovery. However, neither one of them have been able to relax. Rafe is still on edge about Nolan and the other rogues still running free, and Katarina is consumed with the dread of her missing wolf. She's scared of the unknown and at the moment, the unknown surrounds her. Her child, her wolf, what she and her mate are. All of it is new to her and none of it is normal. Whatever that's supposed to be. Katarina has decided that she won't rest until she finds her wolf again. She will search for her no matter the cost, but when that cost could be her child or mate, will she truly do whatever it takes? Maybe the Moon Goddess has a twisted sense in fate. Or maybe it's other forces working against her. Find out in Finding My Luna Cover inspired by @_iiiinfinity_

Once upon a time there was a world, much like our own. This world is gone. The machinations and wars of man saw to every manner of apocalypse. What was left is a world as nightmarish as it is fantastical. Gunslingers and swordsmen ply the same trade. Science, chemistry and magic are indistinguishable from one another. The monsters prey on all, but the true villains will always be human. A handful of corrupted overlords run the walls before the wastelands. They promise power in the form of a potent and mysterious drug called Elysium. This is the way of the world and it has done nothing to diminish the number of mutants and parasites that crowd the wastelands. Until now. They are both overcome by a new threat from the walls that cage them. Only one wall was ever built to protect the non-cannibalistic mutants of the Grey Coast and the inhabitants of Valoria from the true Wastelands; it has fallen. The remaining warriors built a great defense to fill the gap in the frontline wall. This outpost was overrun and the warriors that defended it became too few. They did the best they could and many died in the battles to keep the True Wastelands at bay. Survivers became little more than wanderers, sell swords and try hard defenders of the inhabited wastes. This is the tale of one such wanderer and his mission to unite the Wastelands against the abominations created from Elysium. This is the tale of The Wandering King and his sadistic counterpart.
