You always end up with the person you never expect to be with. And honestly, I never expected to meet someone like Jack. She was calm and cool when under pressure, she thought things through and made wise decisions, even when we only had moments to spare. To others she seemed harsh and cold. A brick wall with defenses so high no one would be able to get around them. Except me.
