The Tales of Christian Boy and Loser Girl

When Crystal Ryan moves to a small town called Ringing Rocks, she quickly learns the entire place is populated by Christians and Catholics. Crystal is singled out for being a Buddhist as well as dressing differently and listening to punk music. She then meets a boy named Josh, who she learns to trust. He isn't like the rest of his town, and she liked that.
