[BOOK 1 OF THE ADRIENNE RAYNE SERIES]

Adrienne Rayne lives a perfectly ordinary life in Ashbourne. She attends Monarch High, hangs out with her friends, and pursues her hobbies. All the while, she secretly wishes to experience a magical quest of her own. Her passion for fictional characters spills into her words, both written and spoken. She spends much of her days daydreaming she was born in a realm with no limits other than one's own imagination. And yet she makes one fatal mistake: in chasing her dream, crossing the line between reality and fantasy, she finds herself trapped in the fictional realms of both the Final Fantasy franchise and The Legend of Zelda franchise. Will Adrienne survive and return home, or will she die, never to return?

The times when magic was commonplace had been long forgotten. And even if rumours of the supernatural do surface from time to time, Marinette isn't one to believe controversies, even if her own life has a few rather peculiar aspects to it. Adrien, on the other hand, is the controversy itself, powerful enough to destroy everything in his way if he chooses to do so. The only thing he wishes for, though, is for the soulmate he meets every night in his dreams to remember him upon waking up... something that might just come true after a rather unexpected visitor and an absurd demand from his father force Adrien to leave the life he knew behind in hopes of finding the one person that can help him regain control of his life. *** Thank you for taking interest in this story. I'm very happy to finally be able to share it with all of you, and I hope you'll enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Before we start, I'd like to thank @ladyofthenoodle, @misscongenialityofmlb, and @mostlovedgirl for beta reading. Thank you, guys! This story wouldn't be the same without you, and I greatly appreciate not only your help with grammar but the support and motivation you've given me over the last few months. Note that this story is rated M because, like in every good story, there is a final, epic battle that will contain certain aspects that might be upsetting to some, such as blood, bodily harm, and similar. I tried to keep the description as non-graphic as possible, but all the chapters containing such matters will contain a warning at the start of the chapter. You're welcome to skim over it or skip it. This, however, relates to only about 5-10% of the story and will take place closer to the end. Happy reading and I hope to hear your thoughts in the comment section or on any of my social media.

SHADOW OF THE DAGGER

20 parts Ongoing Mature

Arvin, a comic book writer, wakes up one day trapped inside the fantasy world he created-a world filled with sword masters, sorcerers, alchemists, and summoners. However, he isn't the protagonist or villain of the story but merely a side character, only gifted with a single skill: mastery of the dagger. Determined to stay hidden and avoid altering the plot, Arvin plans to keep his distance from the main characters and heroine, hoping the story unfolds as intended. But fate has other plans. No matter how hard he tries to avoid them, Arvin finds himself constantly drawn into the orbits of Leon, the sword-wielding hero, and Elyse, the sorceress heroine. Though Arvin excels at keeping a low profile, his dagger skills prove indispensable in critical moments. Slowly, the main characters begin to suspect that Arvin is more than just a background character. While searching for a way to return to his original world, Arvin struggles with the growing bonds he forms with Leon, Elyse, and others in the story. With each encounter, he is pulled deeper into their fates. Will Arvin leave this world behind and return to his real life, or will he embrace his new role in the story-no longer a side character but a vital piece of the tale?
