Mackenzie is a cutie with brains, morals, faithful friends, wonderful parents, and a crush on Nate who's in a relationship; a relationship that she respects because she's not the home-wrecking type. One night Nate's girlfriend forces Mackenzie to pretend to be into the new guy so that Nate will no longer be interested in her. In order to keep Lyndsey from raising Hell for Nate in their relationship Mackenzie reluctantly agrees. She doesn't expect any attraction to develop towards this mysterious and moody Jason. After all, she likes Nate. What happens when feelings unexpectedly grow for one person, but don't seem fade away for another? Which morals do you keep? And which ones get cast aside when emotions take the wheel? And the most important question: Can you do a favor for a crush, when that favor is for you to be with someone else? So many things are happening so fast and unexpectedly, Mackenzie Gold can't help but feel the same emotion you get when you're Side Swiped.

I had good instincts and they were screaming to steer clear of this guy. Why? Because he would break my heart. Why is that all the best relationships happen at the strangest of times?
