Ch. 1 I was told my life began in downtown Los Angeles. Living in an apartment near the train tracks, a train that when it passed it woke and scared me as a baby. As I was too young to remember, I was told we moved from the apartment near the train track into a very small house in East Los Angeles shortly after I was born. As I grew in this small one bedroom house, I grew the happiest. My father worked and my mother didnt. Living in a mexican cultured family and living in a community where Latinos were the larger population didn't really didn't give me much culture diversity. I grew up with children the same color as me. Speaking to me was always alternated from spanish to English; this was due to the fact that everyone I spoke with knew spanish and I unaware, would switch from spanish to english also known as "Spaniglish". Around four years old my mother gave birth to my brother.
