Evelyn Archer and her brother Evan always did the best they could for themselves. After their mom died, and their dad turned to alcohol, they stuck together and did what they could to stay together and keep on living. It wasn't great, but it worked. Then, one completely regular morning, the zombies came and changed everyone's lives forever. Evelyn immediately was ready to survive. When the attack started, she and Evan were separated, and Evelyn made her way to safety with some of her friends. Now Evelyn is in charge of a group of survivors and keeps getting mysterious memories she doesn't remember having, and on top of it all, her brother is missing. Evelyn must risk everything she has worked to gain in the apocalypse to find her brother, discover the truth about her strange dreams, and do her best to survive.

Finding themselves stranded in a zombie apocalypse, the eight friends realize they have very little chance of survival. They rush to quickly get out of town and to what they think might be safety. But little do they know that no where is safe. It seems like things only get worse at every turn. Everyone is physically and mentally exhausted and it's all they can do not to give up. The school started off as any other school year for Autumn Winters. But at the worst possible moment an outbreak occured and the whole school turned into chaos. Autumn and her misfit group of friends make it out of the school, trying to fight for their lives as the people they once knew and maybe even loved tried to bite at their flesh.
