Summer is a nineteen year old girl from Holywood in Northern Ireland. Carter is a twenty year old male from Charlotte, South Carolina. Each of them met on Twitter and became best friends, but not everything was true about Summer. To Carter, Summer's name was really Maddie and "Maddie" lived in Hollywood, California and was 22. When Carter wants to meet "Maddie," Summer has to make up for the lies she has told if they are going to meet. Or will Summer totally turn down the offer and never choose to meet Carter unless fate brings them together? And if they do meet, what will Carter do?
