My hospital room is a blinding, bright white space. The heart monitor beeps from my bedside on the right. The beeps come slower and slower. Mason holds my small cold hand, which holds the tiny paper heart he gave me just seconds ago, in his big warm ones. He puts his head down and I realize he is speaking. Whispering. 

   "I love you. I love you so much. Don't let that beautiful heart of yours stop. Please," he whispers with a strong voice but then it breaks when he says the word 'please'. I raise my other hand, the one he isn't holding, and I place it on his tear stained cheek. He looks up at me straight in the eyes with his sea colored ones. I smile weakly. Mason has come such a long way from who he was before. So much better now. I remember the day we first met and all the ones with him in it after...
