Have you ever felt like forgetting everything and running away? Well that's exactly how Skylar felt and that's just what she did. Skylar was born in the small town of Cantwell, Alaska with just under 300 residents. Her family owns a small horse ranch that they are just struggling to make payments on and is about to be foreclosed by the bank. This ranch might not seem like much but it means the world to Skylar because it is where her one and only friend lives, Stormy. Stormy was the first horse Skylar ever rode ame he has been her best friend ever since. When the bank is going to foreclose the ranch it is going to take the animals with it and Skylar could never lose Stormy. So Skylar decides to leave in the middle of the night into the great Alaskan bush, with only her 22 rifle, a small package of food, her hunting knife and her horse. No one ever saw Skylar leave and that was just how she wanted it, to be completely and utterly gone.

Starts on a cattle ranch, ends fighting werewolves in space. Savannah and Sierra were raised under endless skies in a backwater where winters are long and trouble is scarce. Their Uncle taught them to be tough, self-reliant, and smart enough to avoid anything they couldn't outrun. But when a late-season ride takes them too far into the wilderness, they find something that shouldn't be there-something that sees them as trespassers. What starts as a strange encounter turns into a problem they can't ignore. The ranch, the town, even the quiet life they've always known-none of it is as safe as it seemed. Because some things don't stay buried forever.
