Everything was blurry. 
"You may feel a slight pinch." A voice said. I tried to sit up and see who it was but I was tied to a table.
"Try not to move." The voice spoke again "It just makes this so much harder."
Then I felt a small sharp pain in my arm. Unconciousness was threatening to take over. I struggled to keep my eyes open.
The voice sighed "Your a real fighter, not like the others." 
And that was the last thing I heard before I was engulfed in the darkness.All Rights Reserved

His footsteps quickly, walking across the hardwood floor. The first book in the series Not very good lol 😆 Completed, still needs editing though let me know what you think!

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

He held out the rubber needles that are required for me to have my dexstrose. They came in many sizes, but he picked the shortest one to assure that my veins won't swell. He brought out a seemingly large packet and ripped one of it's ends. He pulled out a long, blue, rubber ribbon and tied it around my wrist. "Repeatedly open and close your fist.", he instructed. I did as I was told while he reached for another item in his pocket. He brought out another small packet- probably an alcohol swab. And I was right. "Now close your fist tightly..." Again, I did as I was told. I closed it tight enough for my fist to turn right. He suddenly started flicking the back of my hand. He continued flicking until one vein was clear enough to see. He reached for something in the large plastic box he brought along with him. Oh God, a needle. He inserted it in the rubber needle for it to penetrate through my skin. But before doing so, he ripped out one of the ends of the alcohol swab's packet and pulled out the swab. He wiped some of the alchohol onto the back of my hand and stuffed it back in his pocket. He took the rubber needle he was holding earlier and started to carefully aim it. When he was ready- "Deep breath..."

I blinked. My eyes began focusing on shapes. I could hear murmuring voices. I could smell medication. I could taste blood. I could feel scratchy blankets lying over my frail body. Three humans, talking under their breaths. A blue cast on my leg. Another on my arm. Stitches in my other 'leg'. More stitches on my face neck and chest. A huge stapled gash across my entire stomach, starting from my shoulder and going in a diagonal line straight across my body and ending at my hip bone. It had just avoided my heart. Tubes were threaded through my arms and other areas of my stomach. I was suddenly very aware of the amount of pain I was in. I cried out in pain and all three people turned to me. The middle one lurched forwards and took a needle from the side. The other two fussed around me, rethreading the tubes and checking that they were all fully functional. A sharp, aching pain pierced my neck and I caught the middle guy with a needle in my neck. My vision slowly began blurring again.
