His expression changed from amused to anger. All the girls held their breath as they waited for something to happen.Mr. James didn't do anything at first then he stepped closer to Brittany. "What did you just call me?" he asked.
Brittany was about to answer, but he slapped her across the face. She fell to the ground holding her face. The slap seemed to echoed around the room.
"Brittany!!" Vada yelled and stepped forward to help her friend. Two men stepped up and grabbed her from both sides. "Brittany!"
Mr. James kicked Brittany hard in the ribs and she doubled over in pain, cradling her body. "Brittany!" Vada yelled, she looked to the other girls but they all just stood there watching. She struggled against the two men but there were too strong.
Mr. James used his foot to turn Brittany on her back. "I really hate being called that and it sucks you have to learn the hard way."
Vada watched helplessly as he put his foot on the base of her friends throat and press down hard.
