Daedalus escaped by making feathers for him and his son Icarus. They were made of gold and strapped tightly to their arms. Unfortunately, while escaping Icarus flew too near the sun and his feathers loosened from the heat of the wax. So he plummeted into the sea.  Never to fly again, or live for that matter...

That was the first of our kind. Now we fight to protect what is ours, the ability to fly. The warriors are the elite. Only do the warriors carry weapons at all times. Only do the warriors fight in battle for what the people believe in.  And the best part, Only the warriors have permanent wings. 

Hybrid of humans and birds. Ever since the first Great War we have made hybrids chosen specially to become warriors.
