Melody Alves. She was just a normal young adult. She had watched her time just TICK by. Freshman. Sophmore. Junior and Senior year. She was now finally an adult and free to do anything she wanted. Mel had a plan for the rest of her future. As her time ticked by she would take a few years before college to spend more time with her amazing boyfriend, Kolton Wade. But something happens.. Something that doesn't make sense. She was crying. Now she was in front of the wheel. Where was she going? She had everything planned out so where was she goes now? Everything became a blur. The night came and she turned on her lights. Her crying got harder until she passed out in front of the wheel, beginning to drift into the other lane. A honk of a horn from an approaching car woke her from her sleep as she tried to turn her wheel. The railing broke. Calamity.

Blind not Deaf
“ I have been nothing but good to you for the past two years!” I yell into my cell phone. I’m so angry and frustrated that my knuckles turn white from holding onto the steering wheel so tight. “And you know what Gary, I’m soooo done being with you, we’re through!” Then before giving him a chance to reply I hang up. I know that if I listen to him and his smooth talking I might just fall for his prince charming attitude, again. “uggh!” I screech into the empty SUV. Not wanting to hit it I swirl out of the way but lose control on the slippery road. I desperately try to take control of the vehicle, knowing I can’t, I cry out as it hits a tree and the world goes dark. Alexander Miles lived a perfect life, full of good grades and wild parties. Her parents let her do most anything, her friends are amazing and her boyfriend Gary couldn’t be sweeter. Yes life was good! But one night something didn’t feel right when Gary called and explained he was going out of town. Following his car, he parks in front of an out of control party. The wail of sirens echoed throughout the hospital as the emergency room doors burst open. Two individuals were being carted in while another gurney was carrying someone draped in a white cloth. It was too late for them. I could just barely hear what the paramedics were yelling to the doctors as they rushed to the operating room. "Car crash. Must have lost control. Both middle aged men. One is Native-American with long black hair and light brown eyes. He has multiple lacerations to the abdomen, his skull was fractured, left knee cap shattered, and internal bleeding." the young man explained. "The other is Caucasian with blonde hair and green eyes. His neck is broken, there are four fractures along his spine, we think his spleen might have burst, and there is a large piece of the car door sticking out of his chest. Possibly the handle. Both are in critical condition. There was a third passenger, but she was gone before we got to them." A louder sob ripped through my chest, my entire body shuddering from the force of it. Tears began streaming down my face faster than I could wipe them off. I wrapped my fingers around my ears the same way I did that night, silently begging the memories to go away. Before I knew it, I was rocking back and forth.
