They're not like us. Then they're never human. For seventeen-year-old Canis Harker, escaping the devastated world is impossible. After the deadliest tragedy that mankind ever experienced, it had swept millions of people around Los Angeles, and in the whole world, including Canis's parents. As she tries desperately to protect her sister, and to survive from the devastation, she finds herself struggling and do not know where to go. After the first tragedy, now, the world is under control by an organization, an organization that tries to manipulate the remaining people. With the help of a man, with his two companions, they worked together and set off in a journey as they fight against the organization to take themselves to Vancouver. But what they found during their journey, and in Vancouver isn't the answer. There are no safe places anymore.

When Mathilda was twelfe, her world fell apart. A tragic car accident stole her father, her mother drowned her grief in alcohol, and her brothers slowly drifted away-reduced to rare phone calls every few months, if at all. Now, with their mother's death forcing them back into each other's lives, the siblings are faced with the fragile possibility of rebuilding what was lost. But wounds this deep don't heal easily. And Mathilda must decide whether some bonds are worth forgiving-or whether the past will keep them forever broken.
