While trying to keep enough money to survive, 17 year old Kilorn finds he's become a pocketer, common in the streets of small villages. With only the pack on his back, tattered clothes and his daggers, Kilorn must steal money to survive.

He steals small amounts of a stranger's money under the noses of the village guards. While trying to pocket some quick change from a small and ancient man, Kilorn gets caught by the victim himself.

Instead of screaming for the guards, the old man quickly takes a liking to Kilorn and trains him as an apprentice to the Creature Slayer.

Traveling all over the kingdoms of Euradon, Kilorn kills ancient monsters and creatures known to man only in legend.
