Prologue: Hawaii My parents made this extremely last minute decision to go to the Big Island of Hawaii. They are the type of parents that sit around in an office behind a computer, and are paid tons of money, while I go to an expensive private school. I have my own car and I'm only 15, my house has 5 stories and my bedroom takes up the whole basement, oh did I forget to mention that my family owns a private jet? I have twin younger brothers, Luke and Jake, an older brother, Logan, and an older sister, Jammie. Luke and Jake are 13, Logan is 16, and Jammie is 19. We all ride to school in a limo. So obviously my parents have the money, the power, and the mode of transportation at the tips of their fingers, just ready for them to use.

All Hazel Scott ever wanted to do was get away: get away from her alcoholic mother, her abusive father, and her clingy ex-boyfriend. So with senior year coming to a close, she only has a summer break to make her once mindless daydreams a reality before she has to go back and hit the books for college and she's planning on doing just that. Hazel's going on a running away trip to Paris alone for a week to get the freedom's she's always dreamed of. Dreaming is the easy part though while paying for her little getaway might take some time, time she doesn't necessarily have if she wants to find what she's looking for before the summer ends. So how do you raise fifteen hundred dollars in such a limited amount of time? In Hazel's mind: a lemonade stand. But when business doesn't turn out so well, an old crush decides to step in and help her. As the two teenagers set off on their fundraising adventures, Hazel might something other than dollar bills. Maybe she really doesn't need to jet off to a European country to get away. Maybe all she needs is a simple boy from the past to find exactly what she's been looking for.
