On the Sound side of the Carolina islands lies Bodie Boarding School, where troubled teens are dropped off and abandoned by their families. Lizzie Fischer has been one of their inhabitants for three years now, and has grown accustomed to her new, unusual life. Although she's surrounded by misfits and trouble-makers, these unwanted children give her the unconditional love and support she craves. Dax was a neglected teen who felt like no one understood him. He lives with his best friend and drunk brother, while his rich father disappeared to California in hopes of starting a new life. Dax's family was torn apart. He hid behind a smile, letting his high school peers assume he was still the same rich jock he had always been. Things were getting more and more difficult for him... Until he met Lizzie. The two come together and provide one another with a safe zone. As long as they're with each other, they forget about the abandonment that haunts them. When a tragedy strikes, Lizzie's parents want her to come back home, but is that really her home? Lizzie has to decide whether to leave her friends and Dax, who need her and have always been there for her, or go back to her parents, who left her when she needed them the most. A story of love, neglect and friendship all combine into the perfect summer read.

Liam thought that the only significant event that would ever occur in his life would be his parents getting a divorce. But that's where he was wrong. Suddenly, Liam's average Australian teenage boy life is thrown up into the air when he and his mum decide to move to California. Liam finds himself with a buzzing social life that he never had before and of course, a beautiful girl living next door. Will the craziness of teenage life get in the way or will one shake be all it takes? *AUTHOR'S NOTE* I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to anyone who was waiting for me to take this story further. I feel like I hit a bit of a brick wall. I love this story, it was the first time I started writing for me and not for school. I was getting some major writer's block when it came to this story which felt weird because the creative juices had been flowing up to this point. I love this story and the characters and I finally realised that any writing I tried to force out would be really bad quality and that it could ruin the story. I do realise that this is very frustrating; I would be annoyed if someone did it to me. But I really think that in this case, less is more. I may come back to this story one day, but I make no promises. I feel like my time with Liam and Saskia has come to an end. They can enjoy their summer in peace! Basically, this is just a feel-good summer read, and I hope I've brought you some enjoyment at least. xx RomanceWriter2000 :)
