Indigo Chávez, he's dramatic. That's something you realize about him pretty quickly. Some, well, he thinks most, call him funny. The other percentage call him annoying. He's childish, immature, irrational, and flat-out stupid. Sometimes, when you know too much, it's easier to act like you don't. He's a recovering drug addict, still currently one. It's hard for him to grow up. He lives a normal enough life, unlike most like him. His body gets sold to pervert men and pervert women, sometimes for months, never longer than three, though. His stepmom seems to hate him but not fully. They have a weird relationship. She's the one who sells him. He's curious. He's very stubborn, too. When he makes a decision, he doesn't go back. It takes him a while to realize things. Indigo Chávez is a smart-ass. He likes to talk back, and he never thinks before he speaks. He feels like he's above everyone but never admits it. All the pieces of his story don't seem to fit. Something doesn't make sense. The more you read, the more that makes sense. The book alternates between him, the people in his life, and back in time to his father and his sister's father. In the end, maybe the only ones truly there for you are your siblings![Hope. Blaze Knight lost her mum in a car accident. Blaze witnessed the death of her mum and it haunts her nearly every day and night. She struggle with depression and self harms. She pushed all her friends away because she doesn't want to lose anyone else she cared about, she just thought it was easier to push everyone away. Blaze lives with her Grandma. Her dad disappeared when she was around 5 years old. Now nearly 18 she hasn't seen him since. She doesn't believe in love or hope or anything like that. But now enter. Levi Rivers. The schools own bad boy. No one has proof of what his done only rumours. Everyone is scared of him because of his looks and his image. He is over 6ft3 which makes him tower over people. His dark hair and dark piercing eyes. His bulging muscles. He has had a horrible past abusive father, run away mother. Nothing seems to go right for him any more until he runs into crying Blaze in the middle of the night. He then notices her eyes, the emptiness and the sadness they hold. Why do bad things happen to good people? A question that his boy is making himself more then ever this days. From the beginning we see a 17 year old boy, struggling to finish high School, filled up with insecurities, mental health issues, a toxic family home, and impossible standards to live up to. He has learn to not only hate his life, but to want finish it off as fast as possible. Close to finally graduating high school his English teacher, Mr Steve, assigns the class a special progect. "To be able to see life through different eyes, and write about it." For this, Mr Steve gets his class to assist a hospital 3 times a week, and assigns each student, with a patient. This is the moment where this boy meets Royal, a cancer sick 17 year old girl, that has lived in a hospital her hole life, but still finds beauty and meaning in it. Through out the report the boy gets more and more involved in Royal's life, spending unfortunately moments together. But through out the journey he asks himself more and more.
