"Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the lords my soul to keep
See me safely through the night
And wake me with the morning light"

...and though that morning light is but a ghost on the Eastern horizon, it is one onto which we cling. In this dark age of begotten Ringwraiths, rogue orcs, and Sauron's rise, it is a hope that we will live to see another day.

But as direction goes, it is not so much a morning light, nor an Eastern one, but that of infinitesimal flames roving across the lands yet funneling in the Northeast. These are the flames of Phoenicians, cause of Sauron's original downfall and back for our final battle.

This is a story of a return to light within the very heart of Gondor's son. The tragic death to counter Durin's, only withheld by a tear of heavenly descent. And though his ways are ones of great fault, he is yet to be the most deserving of all humanity...a true light in the darkness.

Let us then begin the tale of dwarves and men.

~ work in progress ~ uploading every Sunday ~ "He is known in the Wild as Strider," his father Thranduil had said to him, before Legolas embarked on that journey to the North, seeking the son of Arathorn amongst the Dúnedain. Yet nothing in those words-or in the King's measured tone-had prepared him for the path already carved before him. A path that would not only alter his fate but entwine it with that of a stranger he meets in the shadows of a pub in Bree. Years later, as the War of the Ring fades into legend and the twilight of the Third Age gives way to the dawn of the Fourth, this unfortunate encounter follows the elven prince still. What then began as a diplomatic mission becomes a web of choices and consequences bound by a power older-and perhaps more perilous-than even Sauron's Ring. Alliances will be tested and from the echoes of the Old War new shadows will rise threatening to unravel the peace that was so hardly fought over to be claimed. What will it take to preserve what was won, and who will rise to pay the price when peace begins to fracture? An ongoing tale inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, this story delves into the untold corners of Middle-Earth-a journey of loyalty, sacrifice, and the unseen forces of fate that shape us all. Join the adventure, and help shape the unfolding tapestry of myth, mystery, and heroism displayed not by heroes but from those who bear its cost. ~ Book 1 out of 4 ~

Queen Naehlara (LOTR, Legolas love story) by ardenswriting
50 parts Complete Mature
In a bed chamber high in the trees of Lothlorien is a young she-elf is sound asleep. "She will wake soon if Mithrandir is to proceed with his quest to Erebor. The darkness will grow, and she will awaken to fight it, like she did long ago." Galadriel says, turning to her husband and taking his hand. The she-elf is not as young as she seems, she had nearly faded when Galadriel found her at the beginning of the second age. The elf never woke, but the Lady of Light has foreseen it; Naehlara will awaken to help lead the elves, men and all free folk to peace, for she is the High Queen of the elves. The only living elf from the first age. Her fae grows stronger with every year bringing her closer to awakening. Galadriel once was friends with the elf, her father Thingol; king of Doriath before it was abandoned and forgotten as the first age elves left Middle Earth to go back to Valanor or faded with time. "I have longed to see my friend reawaken but how do you explain to one that nearly two ages has passed since she fell into slumber." Galadriel says, a small smile growing on her face. "She was a mighty warrior, the best in all of Middle Earth. But she was stubborn, not as wise as most elves. A lot more like our Woodland kin, the ones in Greenwood." Galadriel says, a laugh slipping through her lips as she remembers watching Naehlara fight in the wars long ago. How she'd argue with anyone that stood in her way, nearly taking the head off the captain of the guard when he would not head her warning of the armies coming from Morgoth. ✨NOT A HOBBIT FANFIC IT IS SET DURING LORD OF THE RINGS✨ A/N I do not own any character other than Naehlara and maybe more if I choose to add more. But probably just Naehlara. I'm newer to the fandom so please let me know if i got any facts wrong. I hope you enjoy the story Also maybe be slow updates due to work but I hope to put out consistently!

"The world was young, the mountains green, No stain yet on the Moon was seen, No words were laid on stream or stone When Durin woke and walked alone. He named the nameless hills and dells; He drank from yet untasted wells; He stooped and looked in Mirrormere, And saw a crown of stars appear." You could say Endor Baggins's life was the complete opposite of her uncle Bilbo's. Having grown up as the proper hobbit, with no "trouble in an adventurous spirit," she was highly praised by strangers and hobbits alike. That is, until her father and mother died in a tragic incident. The Shirefolk would forever blame shock for Endor's dramatic change, although she remembers the shift as the revelation of her true character. Indeed, whereas Bilbo transformed from adventurous to reserved, Endor moved from conservative to travel-frenzied. And her little brother of three years, Frodo, had no tether on her actions. After all, Bilbo was there to look after her sibling as she travelled the West for months at a time. With this change in spirit, it came as no surprise when she demanded to accompany her uncle in his visit to Erebor, thirty-three years after his departure from the Company. After all, it had been Bilbo whom she idolized: her courageous uncle who reclaimed a mountain from a dragon with a rogue band of dwarves. This was a simple visit to a distant land, yet the journey made a second hobbit into legend. And thus, her story begins when she took her first true step, from the Shire to the Lonely Mountain, hobbits to dwarves, past to future, and loneliness to love. DISCLAIMER: I don't own any of the characters in this story other than Endor Baggins, nor do I own the settings. These rights are reserved to J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson. I don't own the media I post, as they belong to their respective owners. I do not own the cover picture; it belongs to its respective owner(s). 42 parts Complete

Where Lord Elrond's firstborn was the evening star, his second born was the morning star. Blessed with the ability to call on the light of the dawn, Allora is a paragon of hope as she sheds light on a growing darkness. And as the tenth member of the Fellowship of the Ring, she journeys with them to destroy the One Ring for good and rid the lands of Middle-Earth of the darkness and evil of Sauron, the very being her father fought over 3000 years prior. Where he fought at the start of the battle, his daughter will fight for the end. But through all this fighting and all this darkness and light; through being the ray of hope for everyone else, Allora finds a ray of hope for herself. A ray of hope that takes form in her Elvish companion, Legolas. Facing darkness from the likes of which she's never seen and feelings from the likes of which she's never felt, it's safe to say that this battle is going to be harder than any that Allora has ever fought before in her long life. Wish her luck because she will surely need it. (The fellowship of the ring - the return of the king) (Disclaimer: I own nothing except for Allora and any original scenes and dialogue I have written) (A/N: The description could be better but it's a decent story, I promise. Hope you enjoy it and please, don't plagiarise it.)
