Past and present seem to have more links than Niamh Tenniswood thought. When a prosecutor turns up unconscious, having been assaulted, a case from two years prior, the trial of Yuri Rinko, resurfaces. Behind the scenes, the Chief of Detectives, a mysterious man named Carson, seems to have a wish to destroy the agency. A new detective and prosecutor duo attempts to find most of the agency's workers falsely guilty of crimes they didn't commit for reasons unknown. Another member of the agency's super team is going through an odd phase involving the dark force known as midnight discord, a mind controlling condition. Somehow, all of it is connected, and it's Niamh's job to figure out what picture the puzzle pieces form.
It's just one big web of mistrust.
