Fleeing a cruel and obsessive Laird, Merida and her brother Iain travel to the Isle of Mull seeking the Warrior Druids of Eld, hoping to enlist aid in controlling their developing powers. Learning to be both Healer and Warrior, the siblings undergo rigorous training. Suffering from a terrifying curse, Merida struggles to control a bloodlust which gains in strength as she matures. Fleeing from a brutal attack on her father and brother, she begins a search for the creadair or power object which houses the essence of the curse and her freedom - if she can retain her humanity long enough to destroy it.
