Jared, Dorian, and Haven were inspired by characters from the vampire film, The Lost Boys-- at least as far as their appearance, re:Jared (Michael) and Dorian (David). I also amplified the relationship dynamics that were much more subtle in the movie. Haven mostly looks like Star, but with different hair. And she's feistier. I also take liberties with the rest of the band's appearance and personality, and the mechanics of vampire mythos at play. *18+* Finished sooner than I had expected to. But I forgot how much I enjoy writing for its own sake. Moving back is challenging enough, but the revelation of supernaturals makes it almost terrifying, and the fact that her next-door neighbors are shapeshifters makes it even more horrifying. However, her mysterious neighbors help reveal a huge secret in her past that's going to make her life even more difficult and she has no idea how she's going to be able to navigate her even more complicated life.
