After the battle of the Red Death, Hiccup  and his Dragon Toothless are no where to be found. Stoick, Astrid, Gobber and the rest of the village mourn the loss of the hero who risked everything to save them. in his memory, Stoick allows dragons to live in the village, and allowing the teens to form a dragon training academy. however, he knew that his son would not be here to witness his dreams become reality.
3 years later, an attack by an old foe, Alvin the Treacherous, leads to the village's  discovery of Hiccup being alive. however, their joy is cut short when they realise that the person they encounter is no longer the Hiccup they knew. His and Toothless's mind have been warped by Alvin to do his bidding, giving him a more darker personality and a serious distain for his father and all those who bullied him over the years. what will become of the village?, of Hiccup? and will they be able to bring him back?

Now, he's eighteen years old whose desperate to live his life. With so many people after him, his father forces Hiccup to stay on Berk until he finds a man whom he refuses to talk about. Hiccup begins to suffer from night terrors that make him want to stay along with battling his own mental condition. Things go south again when an unexpected traitor hands Hiccup over to the ones who want to destroy him mentally and physically. Meanwhile back at Berk, Stoick was furious rampaging through his house looking over numerous different maps. He was desperate to find his son. So desperate he would do anything to get him back. Hiccup was planning to run away but now that Astrid knows his secret, he doesn't know what to do. Then Astrid comes up with a crazy idea that might just save them. They leave for good. Or that's what they thought. 7 years later, Hiccup and Toothless along with Astrid and Stormfly crash land on berk and chaos ensues and probably the greatest threat they would ever have to face.
