Living in the gutter of school life, Peter is happy to cruise through high school creating a little mischief here and there and not making any unnecessary friendships. A goal of his is to antagonise Tris Prior, and suddenly an opportunity in the form of her brother arises. 

Peter finds himself denying and refusing what is plain to see in this short story of self realisation and relationships.
