The war between Noncredenti and Deimitopulus has been going on for longer than anyone can remember.  It began when the Noncredentis crucified Jesus Christ, the prophet of the Deimitopuluses.  Every third child in Noncredenti is now taken to become a soldier.  They are never given names, only numbers.  Can a boy, #642, who has only been taught the war and to defeat the enemy, become friends with them?  Can two soldiers change an entire war?
