Sanctuary Steps

The boy and the girl used to be everything. They were each others breath, moon and stars. She saved him, and he dared her to fly. She rescued him from the streets, and brought him into the church.
He taught her to be strong.

Regan was an eight year old abandoned by his mother, and too big a burden for his drunk father. He wandered the streets most days, looking in at other families. He wondered what being loved felt like.

Cassia was six, and had the perfect life. She didn't know she needed Regan until she found him on those church steps.

The same sanctuary steps will bring them back together again, and teach them how to love every broken piece of each other.
