The door slams shut and he slides to the floor. Phil lets out a frustrated sigh and runs his hand through his dark hair. He instinctively tucks his knees into his chest and wraps his arms around them, resting his forehead on his legs. A slow trail of heavy footsteps emerge from the silence and gradually make their way to his room. Phil tenses as he prepares for the yelling to commence once again. Silence. Seconds pass, and nothing happens. He shuts his eyes as any moment now, the man who called himself his best friend would burst in. A loud, irritated groan breaks the dead air and the heavy steps faded down the stairs. Phil opened his eyes and realized that he had unknowingly clenched them so tightly, tears were beginning to form at the corners. What had happened to his roommate?
