The Guardians, after finally defeating and overpowering Pitch Black, remained in the state they were and only had to work their whiskers off on their designated holiday. But years after the Black's defeat, the guardians now find theirselves facing a whole new problem with a whole new way of solving it.
Not by a boomerang, snowstorm, elves or sand.
But by encouragement.
Depression is one of the main source of Black's power. And they now have to help the girl living in darkness to see the light again, but how could they when they're all invisible when it comes to her?
