Phil on the other hand is a nerd, video games, computers, extremely brutally beaten at school and home the deal. His parents are ashamed of him and let him know that everyday, they are ashamed because he's gay.  Dan was the main bully of Phil, never hit him, he name called and the occasional shove, or putting his foot in front of him so he tripped. Dan wasn't proud, he hated what he did to Phil. He hated himself for what he did to Phil, because he always had to hear him cry. And plead for it to end.

Barely any money and deadbeat parents, he lives in a bad neighborhood in a gross apartment with cat hair covering the carpet and an odd roommate. And then Dan's parents decide he needs to love someone rather than himself, and when Phil shows up at his mansion steps, Dan's parents grow fond of him- so much that the two are exchanging rings and Phil is moving in with his new spouse. They tell Dan he should give it a few months, to be patient, and if he still doesn't like him then they'll sign the divorce papers and call it quits. Marriage isn't perfect, right? Well this one is the exact example. But they could always pretend.

Dan is quiet and never in a very good mood. Due to the bully at school and his general home life, he's depressed and he doesn't like to eat much as it only makes him more depressed. Dan truly just wants to be loved. Phil is usually always happy, his home life may be scattered but he for the most part doesn't let it bother him, and he seems to just go with the flow, that is until Dan catches his attention and Phil makes a decision to stick up for Dan. But why ? {told in both Dan and Phil's points of view} {mentions of bullying, depression, torture, strong language, and is overall just very sad.}

His job is to meet, study, and assassinate Phillip Lester. When Dan finds his target introducing himself to Dan, Dan begins to think that this will be his easiest assassin to date...That is, until all of his assassination attempts fail. And, after getting to know his target a little better, Dan finds himself falling hopelessly in love with Phil Lester, and therefore unable to perform the assassination as instructed.
