Monika always thought her life was normal, nothing needed to be taken away or added. She was perfectly content with the life she had: putting vanilla cupcakes in a hot oven, frosting large cakes for weddings, rolling cookie batter: everything was fine. Her life seemed incomplete when she saw a man, with no shirt and tangled white hair, walk out of her friend's room.
She encountered him again but this time with a brocoli up to her face.
