Whenever there is a trouble with the memories or a tear in the timeline, the keepers of time are there to solve problems and make things right. If there is a problem with the Shadow and dark forces, the Gem keepers are there in a flash. The two do not mix, and plan not to. However, what happens when a problem too big for just one of the groups arises, and the two must work together to stop the old foe in new ways.
