Charlie Summers didn't expect her first day on the job to be this adventurous. 

It's Charlie's first day as Detective Sergeant Summers and she is in for a spectacular time. She expected it to be quieter but when a murdered woman turns up on a Sydney monorail things are about to get ugly. Whilst she is trying to solve her first crime Charlie must learn to navigate her way around her secretive, critical and down-right scary boss Detective Inspector Thomas King as well as the street-smart, flirtatious and arrogant Private Investigator Andrew West. Luckily she has a few people to help her on the way.

But things are not always as they seem. Charlie discovers there's a lot to her boss and how there is a dangerous rivalry between King and West, stemming from long ago. Through this Charlie must keep her wits about her hiding the secrets of others and especially her.
