and I'm speeding
through the water
as my tail propels me.

12-year-old Ann (short for Anemone) is just an ordinary girl. She loves shopping with her besties, Melody and Carol, and loves fashion. But she is not a shallow-hearted girl, either. She helps her parents, who are pediatricians, care for the cancer patients at the hospital they work. She knows her parents better that most kids know theirs, Ann thinks. Until one morning her mother is missing and her dad wakes with no recollection of who she is.
