Summer thought that the only conflict in her senior year was studying and applying to colleges. It would had never crossed her mind that someone would try to kill her. When she goes to a bonfire celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of senior year, it happens. She wakes up, but nearby she finds that her body is hardly hanging to life. To make things difficult, the only person to see her is her former best friend, Austin. With no idea what had happened and no clues to who had done it the unlikely pair work together to find them. And if they can't figure out who is after her, it might really be the end of Summer.

Growing up alongside the Hale family has kept her fairly well-informed about the creatures that lurk in the darkness. However, she didn't become one of those nighttime horrors until the end of her sophomore year- Derek had no choice but to turn her so she wouldn't die from her wounds after a kanima attack. The thing is, she didn't gain his fangs and claws. They say that the bite turns you into the shape of your character. Vera still isn't sure what to make of becoming some sort of glorified ghost. But with a pack of Alphas knocking on Derek's door and people disappearing left and right only to show up dead days later, she barely has time to think about anything else. It wouldn't be so terrible if it weren't for four specific facts: 1. The Alpha leader killed her father and may or may not be coming to finish her off. 2. Nobody seems to be safe from the mass murders in the town. 3. She has to spend more time than usual with Isaac Lahey, with whom she shares a mutual disliking. 4. Despite the challenges of life, we make an effort to persevere. Coming out leaves a lasting impact on me as Dustin takes down the crucifix over his bed. Around the time when Beth is blossoming from her shell, Carson develops a new addiction. Finally, Mandy's family life keeps deteriorating. This is more than even Phineaus and Ferb accomplished in a single summer! But regrettably, everything would go south. From the splattering of my consciousness with fuzzy portions of my day and the skin crawling appearances of mysterious notes. To boyfriends who associate with the wrong people, put on tough exteriors to feel validated inside, and even obstruct the assimilation of a harmful figure's intentions. All of this culminates into carnival day, when yet another child's blood washes the floors of BerkVille. What took place? Who was the criminal? Desdemona ''Des'' Winchester wants nothing to do with Melliford Academy. In fact, she's pretty sure her parents shipped her off to boarding school just to get her out of their hair. It's a move they'll come to regret if she has any say in the matter. Nothing humiliates posh folk like having a daughter sent home from the country's most esteemed educational institution. Just flunking class isn't dramatic enough, though. Des plans to get booted in the most spectacular manner possible, just to make sure her parents' social circle will never let them live it down. Her scheming, unfortunately, encounters three roadblocks within the first week of class. The first: Exie Quinnell, teacher's pet, whip-smart, and unreasonably attractive. Neither girl intended to end up on a project together, but their teacher deemed Des in need of a little... remediation. The second: There are things about Melliford Academy that none of the teachers will talk about, even when pressed. Things that should be easy answers.
