BRIBE THE BRIDE WITH LOVE “Did she say yes?” my best friend Khalid asked. “Of course, after all I offered my bride, a good bribe.” I said while recalling the moment I proposed to her. “Dare I ask, what did you offer her?” “Love. A promise to love and cherish her forever…” My to-be-bride’s face lit up when I had said that to her. She had got all teary-eyed. Oh, how I wished to wipe that smile off of her face and see more of her tears. “I suppose you will not hold on to that promise.” I smirked. “And that’s why you are my best friend. You see, accepting a bribe is a crime which she did and now she’s going to pay for it.” “Offering bribe is a crime too. Won’t you too pay for it my friend?” I scoffed. “Why would I? I did the right thing.” Khalid sighed. “Just be careful, okay ?Are you sure you want to go ahead with this revenge plan of yours without hearing her side of the story? You know marriage is not a joke.” “I saw what happened that day. Seeing is believing dude. And you are right, marriage is no joke and that’s exactly what I am going to show her.” “But-” Khalid tried to reason but I silenced him with what I said next, “I, Razan Shaad, vow to give my lovely bride Faria Zehna as much hatred as I can.” “Don’t make promises you can’t keep bro. You never what will happen in the future.” And with that Khalid walked away.

Wearing that bridal dress again is a disaster for her because of the crippling guilt. He asks her to wear her nikkah dress if she wishes to meet her parents. Perhaps he is looking out to make a point to them that now she was his. He enters the room and finds her standing near the window, Cladded in her bridal dress which was enough as a mark to tell everyone that she is his. She turns around. For the first time today, he doesn't find the hatred seeping into his eyes for her. Instead, her shining green orbs seems hurt. "Why did you make me wear this dress again?" She inquires. He shrugs his shoulders confidently. "To make a point in front of your family that you are mine and no one, including them, is allowed to mess up with what's mine." "What am I supposed to do then?" "You are now going to stay at your parents's place till I get my own family to accept our nikkah, which they will do eventually. Then they will come to your house, meet your parents and we'll get married in a proper ceremony. You got a promise from me to get the status, respect, and honor of my wife from everyone, and you'll ultimately get that," he informs her truthfully. "What will you tell my parents about all this? And what am I supposed to inform them? And..." She trails off when something hit her mind. She quickly looks back at him. "Don't tell me that you will put the total blame on me. That...that I fled from my house to marry you." "I am not a coward who would ask a woman to leave whatever she had behind to marry me. I loved you openly. I married you openly too. And I'll make you get the status of my wife openly and fearlessly too. I ain't a scared loser who would hide myself behind a woman. I'll tell everyone the truth," he almost roars. She doesn't know why she liked whatever he spoke even though it is wrong on so many levels. Start Date: 06.06.2024 End Date: 23.11.2024
