A true heroine is one who has suffered loss and defeat but still gets back up time and time again to help others who need her. Alexis has lost everything in the aftermath of a deadly virus which has spread though out the UK and around the world killing the souls of 94% of the earths population turning them into "The Infected".
Those who were initially immune to the virus now face threats from other issues since the power went out including being the main food source for the ever hungry Infected.
Alexis is now alone on the outskirt of the city she once loved, a city once booming with people. The sound of talking. The sound of cars, of factories, of life that has now disappeared. All that's left is the occasional scream.
What will she have to sacrifice to survive and keep others alive? Will selflessness come as easy in a world where everything is against you?
Disclaimer: This story may have been subconsciously taken influence from previous books or movies but all the contents have been thought of and written by Alice and Katie Edwardson the owners of the account @Katieee_xx please don't copy our story we have put a lot of time into thinking of the idea and writing it.

The zombie apocalypse has arrived, the virus has been dubbed as AM13, and the human race is struggling to survive. Here are some short stories to accompany Lockdown, Forgotten, and Extinct (but they can be read as standalone)...delve in and enjoy life among the undead! Outbreak: No one has it worse than Rachael! What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. We all were hiding in random places, apparently any place we could find. There were a ton of zombies, the whole place was full of them. Many people from our group were lost to the virus. Muffled voices, blurred vision and heavy breathes were heard. The ship which everyone had longed for soon arrived. The plan was to run to the ship and never look back. The ferry was anchored at the harbor and on the signal, everyone ran for their precious lives, not daring to look back. Some people couldn't make it in 'The End' . The ones who survived were the last of us. Will the people make it in time? What hardships will they encounter along the way?
