16 year old Serena Brooklyn faces many problems. 1) she is a 16 year old girl( that should count for something) 2) her dad is a surgeon that has turned into a workaholic ever since his wife was diagnosed with cancer. 3) her mom is not only a cancer patient, but went into a coma during her latest treatment. 4) the one person she needs the most has changed for the worse. Her ex best friend Ellie made it hard to be friends with and completely lived up to the definition of different. Serena is and always has been an independent person. She carried all the secrets and problems of others yet didn't quite know how to let go of her own. She had trust problems ever since she decided Ellie wasn't to be trusted anymore even through Ellie knew almost everything. How will Serena cope with all this weight on her shoulders? Will she ever make it easier on herself and confide in another person? We hope so!
