Madelyn Jones has always wanted to take over her aunt's bakery. For her dream to finally come true, she has to bake a wedding cake for a customer, and nail it to perfection. Soon, her original enthusiasm wavers, as she realizes she's dealing with the worst bridezilla in existence. Luckily for her, her best friend, Justin Valdez, is in town, on break from culinary school. To their advantage, he also happens to be the bride-to-be's nephew. He accepts to help Maddie out, and the pair start working on the most perfect wedding cake they can muster, so she can take the reins of the bakery she so desperately wants.

But between sugar flowers and tasty fillings, it soon becomes more than a cake, as two best friends slowly understand that there is more than friendship lingering in the air. However, both of them are scared to admit their feelings, since it could ruin everything they have. But, as they spend their days alone in a small kitchen, how long can they deny it?

Personally, I never saw myself as an optimistic person. I never really had any friends, I didn't share feelings for people, I never really had any social life whatsoever. My life was always boring. Especially when I was younger. My parents were sucked up alcoholics, we never had the money to do anything due to my mom quitting her job and my dad being a selfish prick. Though, I'm now an adult; 18 years old. No longer in school. I have job at Walmart as a nightshift stocker; my mother's friend gave me the job. It's summer, so I'm not working as much. I have a small friend group, containing people of 4. Me including, Nathan, Carly, and Dalton. We've known each other since early middle school. I, Kyle, have known Carly and Dalton since grade school. It is rolling up to be Summer. Us 4, have decided to make this Summer year the best of our lives. Join me and the others in our journey, exploring our emotions and different places. Getting into tight scenarios. Explore it through our different pov's. It's definitely a train ride! kyle..wyaa - tiktok enjoy my story! im not an experienced wattpad writer, and im not natively english, so just try your best to make up with my language. I try to keep each chapter a single word name as well, sometimes I add a subheading to the chapter :). thank you for reading lovelys

"My compliments to the chef." ~~~ Twenty-six year-old Kahlia Obisani is the youngest chef to have won the title of Food Doyen in the nation's toughest televised cooking competition. Overseen and judged by the biggest names in the culinary industry around the world, Kahlia became a national sensation when she won the title at the tender age of twenty. With her instant success and prize money, she set up her restaurant, a Michelin star establishment with her leading the helm as head chef. Her winning dish, now her signature dish, is the best selling item on the menu; a sweet dessert with root vegetables as the base ingredients. Thirty year-old Dorian Bankfurth is what most restauranteurs would consider the toughest food critic in the cooking scene. He's built and destroyed restaurants with a single review, putting multitudes of establishments on the map and driving even more into bankruptcy and closed doors. He's cold, judgemental, and cynical, but above all things he's fair. He gives reviews as honestly as he can, and has no problem giving credit where it's due. When his friends take him to award winning Obisani restaurant for his birthday, he's faced with a dish he never thought he'd encounter in his life; a dessert made from root vegetables. The kicker? Dorian hates sweet things. The moment he finally meets the chef behind the meal, both their worlds are rocked in a shocking contrast of sweet and sour. Kahlia's sweet disposition and Dorian's cold glare clash, sparking tension and whispers in those around them. Still, despite his abrasive attitude, Kahlia keeps smiling, infecting the man with a sweetness he hadn't known he was missing, and opening his palate to a whole new world he quickly became addicted to. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. Could he accept the one ingredient his recipe was missing?
