I honestly didn't realize how broken I was. I just figured that if I shut all my feelings out that they would go away. They didn't. They came back strong as ever. Visiting a tropical island where my narrator didn't want to go in the first place, he almost became responsible for the death of a man. A dear man. An intimate friend... almost.
