Both legs, gone. My body frozen with pain as blood gushes out uncontrollably.
I lay on the abandoned street, watching as the titan slowly turns around with its horrifying smile.
It leans forward, reaching out for me.
"I lived a good life"
Kissing the handle of my sword, I wait for my death.
The thing is, it didn't come at all
A shadow zipped across behind the titan's neck, slashing it perfectly with its two blades. After it left, the titan began falling, it was going to collapse on me.
"Please forgive me, Levi"

Darkness. That's all I could see. Everywhere I looked, the inky blackness engulfed my vision. I squinted, searching for any speck of light, but found nothing. "Hello?!" My shouts echoed unanswered into the void. Panic rose as the darkness pressed down. I was alone here, floating in nothingness. I racked my aching mind, trying to recall how I came to be trapped in this endless night. Then, I heard it. A voice, calling my name. It repeated like a broken record, pleading for me to wake up. Could I be...dead? Slowly, I opened my eyes, wincing as sunlight flooded in through a nearby window. Blinking, I took in my surroundings - a hospital room. I glanced right to see cabinets stocked with medicine, then left, where a familiar pair of dull gray eyes met my violet ones. Relief, care, guilt, and confusion swirled in those stormy irises. Confusion...over what I was. The question I dreaded to answer. "It seems selfish, but I want to be the reason that you might smile one day," Their voice comes out even smoother with every word, as if meant to soothe your forked soul, divided into two parts inevitably soon to be put back together. In a second, their Roman nose slightly bumps against yours as they close the gap between the two of you, their lips pushing against yours so lightly, afraid to break your own. Your eyes remain wide while their own eyes shut, hands at your neck and pulling you closer so gently. Another second passes, they pull away as quickly as they went in, yet it felt like a minute had passed. Their presence stings fresh on your lips as you stand there, speechless, bringing your fingers up to run them across the flesh for a second.
