She is not only laughed at, but pushed inside a bin, on train tracks, before a bus and held under water. Julia reacts to the emotional pain by inflicting physical pain to herself. In her late twenties she gets diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, trauma disorders, Ulcerative Colitis and a rare muscular disease. She gets fired three times because of her mental illnesses and behavioral differences. But she still manages to live a happy life.
