The nine gryphon tribes of Belramar have lived in an uneasy peace with one another, brought together by the covenant which bound them all under the rule of one king. But a betrayal within the royal aerie will break the kingdom apart, sending the tribes into chaos as they struggle to regain power and territory. As boundaries begin to form and violence breaks out after ten generations of peace and prosperity, a prophecy is foretold by the old seer Kalraya—the Heraldic, who once brought the tribes together in the name of the goddess Mïrmatara, will rise again to unite the gyrkin and restore peace.

There are some gryphons who would do anything to prevent the prophecy from attaining realization. Just how far will they go to stop the Heraldic from reuniting the gyrkin as one once more?
