Hadassah was orphaned as a young child and raised in poverty by her older cousin Mordecai, but great things were destined for her. Blessed with incomparable beauty and grace, she is snatched from her home and taken to the castle with hundreds of other girls. The king of Persia will choose one of them as his queen, and he chooses her.

But Hadassah has a deadly secret, and she changes her name to Esther. She is Jewish, and the king's right hand man Haman hates the Jews, especially Mordecai ,so much that he gets the king to sign a decree that orders the death of all the Jews.

The penalty of going before the king uninvited it death. Will Esther have the courage to speak up and save her people?

This is going to be based 1990's 'The Mummy'. However, since I love Egypt and the movie so much I was going to try to make my own X reader type book. I always had the tendency to feel bad for the villains, but I don't think Imhotep was really a bad guy. It's just he had a lot of hatred and vengeance for those who cursed him for loving someone after she killed herself. So due to this I'm going to change the story just a tad, and have a more happy ending. I am also naming her after Seti the first real daughter named Tia. I do not own any of the characters besides my Oc Akila/Tia. Akila Carnahan, is the half-sister of Evelyn and Jonathan. Her brother and sister are half Egyptian while Akila was fully Egyptian. She worked with her sister at the Museum of Antiquities in Cario, Egypt. After she and her siblings found the key and the map to Hamunaptra they went to see a man named Rick O'Connell. They all travel to Hamunaptra, not knowing Americans were going as well to the city of the dead. The night they were heading to Hamunaptra on the boat she got constant visions more than she usually did about her past life. How much will she learn of her old life while in Hamunaptra? What will happen when her sister Evelyn accidentally revives Imhotep from the dead with the book? Will she remember her love with the High Priest? Will she help send him back to his holy resting place or will she be the one to keep balance between them all?

In the traditional narratives of the reign of the Achaemenid king Ahasuerus and Queen Esther, important not-quite-historical figures including the sagacious Carshena, the compassionate Hegai, and the steadfast retired horse of king Ahasuerus have had their consequential roles and decisions relegated to mere anecdotes in skipped-over lists. The not-quite-history of the middle Achaemenid Empire might have turned for the worst were it not for the swift political minds of serving girls and scribes at the Persian court, or without the rivalries of those royal concubines outshined by the beautiful queen of Judean descent; though the names of these pivotal people were sadly lost to the annals of history. Bystanders in a Story of Lots flips over the traditional book of Esther so that the plot is told by those characters glossed over or all but ignored in the original text. Though much of this narrative remains a speculative endeavor for the necessary educated guesses required to fill in the gaps in the historical records, my hope is that it but begin to address the injustice done to the lots of supposed bystanders overlooked by more founded works.
