Bella Mendes is a college student pursuing her journalism degree, she is well known around campus because of her popularity and social skills but she keeps to herself and her close knit group of friends. Bella and Derek couldn't seem more different, but their pasts are very intricate in detail. They were former best friends and lovers in high school, planning to head off to Clemsen in their hometown South Carolina, with a promise of an engagement, but the day they are supposed to leave together, he's no where to be found, but in an airplane to Los Angeles, choosing fame and leaving everything behind, including a heart broken Bella. So she packs up and moves to Chicago to go to school instead. But what happens when her professor gives her next assignment to be reviewing Derek's new film there in the city, being forced to face him after years of pain and sorrow. Will he remember her? Will they both ignore the past, or let it happen all over again?
