I watch as she rushes through the hall head down low. 

She stops right next to me, looking at me pleadingly. As if begging me to say the rumors aren't true.

But instead of having empathy for her, I laugh. Right in her face.

I watch as her eyes gleam, holding back tears. The whole hall laughs at her as well. Instead of going to class like she usually does, she walk right back out.

Not a glance back. 

That's when I should have fessed up. But it had gone to far. Watching her leave without doing anything would be one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
