In a world filled with superheroes, what little Sean can do just seems... useless. He's rejected from everything, everyone looks down on him. There just doesn't seem to be a place where he fits in.

But when he finds Sector Eight, an elite school for the heroes with the best powers who hide in plain site on a website where they are guaranteed success, despite the fact that he is so useless, he can't help but feel like he belongs, like he's finally part of something.

Maybe it's possible for him to find a true home that accepts him, but he'll need a little help to believe it...

To the world, you are one person. To one person, you are the world.

Mark always knew who he could trust with all his secrets, who would walk with him, and who was out to get him. Being able to read minds had it perks but overall, it kind of sucked. Just having those constant voices in your head, yelling, whispering, just talking. It drove him mad. Mark was still an optimist, no matter what life threw at him. The red-haired kid that you would either see with a smile or a look of impatience, who stayed behind in empty classrooms for three minutes and only having two more minutes to run across the school the next classroom. That was Mark Fischbach, the one not many knew. Jack never knew who he could trust, who he could complain to, who to confine to without being betrayed. He didn't know why he couldn't trust people, he just had trust issues. He was an optimist, though even an optimist had something to complain about so they could remain optimistic. Not wanting to plague others with his deepest secrets that they had to keep or with his flurry of complaints that he had about life. He was the green-haired kid you could always hang out with, the kid that you could ask for help and he would always come through, the kid with the big toothy grin that everyone loved. That was the Sean McLoughlin that everyone knew. Jack didn't know a lot about his life. Who he could trust? Who he could be actual friends with? Who was out to get him? Who actually hated that giant grin on his face and wanted to wipe it clean? Who is the red-haired kid that looks like he's about to explode in the back of the classroom? Why does he want to help Jack? Why does he know that Jack needs help the first place? The Cotton Candy haired boys; Green and red acting as a beacon of that everyone's eyes are drawn to. The Candy Floss haired boys; Red and green catching the attention of passersby no matter the case. The Candy Haired Boys that needed to live for once instead of hiding from the possiblilities in life.

"Why did this feel so absolutely perfect?! And hey, how come nobody told me I was gay?!" Sean is an artistic guy. He loves to draw, more digitally than on paper, let alone his own skin. Mark was not as artistic as Sean. He focused his creativity more on comedy than art. They're both sick of waiting for their soulmates to show up. Hell, they're twenty-something, and still looking! The two boys are so busy looking for their other half, that they don't notice the little things; Mark scribbling notes on his hands for strategy games, Sean writing down dates for collab videos, and the random bored pen scribbles. But one day, their wild goose chase gets flipped on it's head. Ethan is a different story altogether. He just flat-out doesn't believe in soulmates. He pretends he does to make his friends happy, and to fit in so he feels like he belongs, but no matter how much he wishes he could, the blue boy just can't bring himself to believe in it. All those little doodles on his arms bring him are pain and emptyness. Tyler knows Ethan is his soulmate, and when he figures out what Ethan's been trying to hide, it breaks his heart. Tyler fears that if he can't make Ethan love him, it's going to be a repeat of his childhood all over again... this time, from third person. Who's that woman in the picture on Sean's dresser? Why does Mark care so much? Why doesn't Ethan believe in soulmates? Why does Tyler need him to? All of them have secrets they think no one else knows. But if they want a happily-ever-after, they can't stay secrets for long. And just... What is Kat's deal?! (The AU is basically when someone writes on their skin or gets a tattoo or etc., it also appears on their soulmate's skin in the exact same place.)

30 parts Complete Mature

Mark and Jack are your seemingly normal college roommates, until the nights roll around. With power that human nature can't describe, they have to dodge questions and the arched eyebrows of confusion from eachother to keep their secret safe. This story was inspired by an AU- "Two characters are roommates and are hiding the secret of both being superheros. They always come to the dorm beat up and have to make excuses of why they are. They patch eachother up and slowly fall in love." HUGE dedication to my friends on Instagram: @trashymark for helping me plan and pushing my ideas forward @casiiplier for pushing me to write more @FrannieNeedsToHide for this cover! She did an amazing job, check her out for more of her work!
