-I feel like I can say anything when I'm with you
I said almost sounding like a different person. But still it was true. I felt different when I was with him, with Alexander. It felt like I could do anything, say anything as long as the fence was there. Like if I was too afraid to confess something wrong and I didn't want that person to see me in the eyes. Just by seeing me in the eyes that person would know the real me; lonely, sad, happy, joyful, selfish. All those emotions I could keep inside me, with the help of the fence. I felt fearless with that fence. I felt fearless with Alexander.
Eva Hall lives in a small American town in France. Since her father is rich, she gets to live in the highest class of neighborhoods. The only thing is that there is a fence that separates her world to another world. She is not allowed to have any interactions with the other world. Her dad says that it's dangerous. Then Alexander comes in. They start meeting every night in secret so no one discovers. They get to interact with each Other without really knowing who they are. Eva feels like he is the only one who understands her even though they are literally both from two different worlds. They grow closer together every day. Eva, for the first time, is in love, and feels fearless. With him and the fence, she isn't afraid of anything.

"She's right! She's right! I don't cut in the right spot." My hold tightens on my wrist. The red blood oozes out of my wrist. I slide up and grab my bag and run out of the bathroom. I don't care if people can see the blood I just want to get out. I race for the doors and shove through people. I earn a lot of glares and glances that read "weirdo." I ignore and push. I run to my house and lock myself in my bathroom. I don't bother closing the front door cause I don't care if people come in to kill me. I grab my razor and cut deep cuts into my arm and wrists falling into a pool of my own blood. • • • Evangeline has a great life. Friends? Check! Good grades? Check! Loving family? Check! But what if she has secrets that nobody knows of? What if the only thing she can trust is her secret diary? What if slowly but surly she's dying inside?
