It hasn’t been a good day for Kara. First, inexplicably, a horse starts talking to her. Shortly afterwards she is accused of stealing said horse - and in Pajore, all thieves are hanged. Now Kara and the horse are hiding from the guards searching for them, and have to find a way to escape from the city. But they are about to find out the truth of the saying ‘a full purse reaches far’ when Kasseem, the horse’s owner, lays a deadly trap for them.
