I was sexually abused by my father from the age of two until eight, when he went to jail. He served one year in the county jail. He continued to live a criminal lifestyle and had violated his probation, so he was getting ready to go back to jail again. He decided to committ suicide instead. His funeral was on my fourteenth birthday. That's when I began writing poetry. These poems are about the abuse I suffered and his suicide. My poetry was the beginning of my healing process...
